And we are back with more Friendsgiving rules. The first one in particular, seems to be the best advice for a collaborative party on record. And that is what Friendsgiving is all about. Friends coming together, eating, drinking, laughing and, yes, helping the host clean up. You could not ask for a more appropriate guideline for the holiday.
- Clean Before Dessert – The host should not need the entire next day reserved for cleaning up. They will have enough to do when it is all over. Everyone chips in and cleans the kitchen and table before dessert is served. Once a full belly is topped with pie no one will be able to fight their food coma, so there won’t be much cleaning getting done.
- Someone Creates a Playlist – The person creating the playlist needs to have good taste in music, and this includes a variety of genres. The playlist should include a little something for everyone.
- Don’t Run Out of Ice – You really can’t have too much ice. Instead of trying to stuff bags in your freezer that will end up getting opened and closed all day just fill a couple coolers. They may not match your décor, but no one will mind. However, they will mind if you run out of ice.
- Everyone Brings Beverages – This is a BYOB+1 event. There should be more than what you need. In the end the host should have extra wine, beer, cider, etc. They deserve it! Plus, it gives them an excuse to invite folks back after Black Friday shopping for a much needed nightcap.
